Hello sweeties! Today I have the Yuletide Monsters trio created by Supernatural Lacquer to share with you. Usually Stephanie makes polishes all inspired by the television show Supernatural but this time around the trio is inspired by Holiday Monsters. Read on for more photos and info!
Krampus is a maroon holo polish with purplish blue flakies. I applied three thin coats to achieve full opacity and sealed it with a glossy top coat. Formula was good and applied well. Dried to a semi gloss finish.
"Krampus is a horned, anthropomorphic figure. According to traditional narratives around the figure, Krampus punishes children during the Christmas season who have misbehaved, in contrast with Saint Nicholas, who rewards well-behaved ones with gifts." -Wikipedia

Supernatural Lacquer-Yule Cat
Yule Cat is a black jelly like polish that consist of color shifting flakies. I applied two coats to achieve full opacity and sealed it with a glossy top coat. Formula was good and applied well. Dried to a semi gloss and slightly textured finish.
"The Yule Cat is a monster from Icelandic folklore, a huge and vicious cat said to lurk about the snowy countryside during Christmas time and eat people who have not received any new clothes to wear before Christmas Eve. The threat of being eaten by the Yule Cat was used by farmers as an incentive for their workers to finish processing the autumn wool before Christmas. The ones who took part in the work would be rewarded with new clothes, but those who did not would get nothing and thus would be preyed upon by the monstrous cat." -Wikipedia

Supernatural Lacquer-Belsnickle
Belsnickle is a dark gray polish with pastel blue flakies. I applied three thin coats to achieve full opacity and sealed it with a glossy top coat. Formula was good and applied well. Dries to a semi gloss, slightly textured finish.
"Belsnickel is a folklore figure that originated in Germany. He is a man wearing furs and sometimes a mask with a long tongue. He is typically very ragged and disheveled. He wears torn, tattered, and dirty clothes, and he carries a switch in his hand with which to beat naughty children, but also pockets full of cakes, candies, and nuts for good children." -Wikipedia

My Thoughts:
I love seeing darker, non traditional Holiday polishes this time of year. Especailly since my favorite types of polishes to wear are the darker shades. Stephanie made a great flakie filled trio and all formulas were easy to work with and looked great. My personal Favorite is Belsnickle. I love the way the blue flakies look in the dark gray base.
The Yuletide Monsters Trio will be available Black Friday weekend in their new Big Cartel shop! For more info please check out the links below!
