Hey guys! So a few months back I was contacted by Sally Hansen to review and test their new re-formulated Insta-Dry line. Sally Hansen has always been a staple in my drugstore/main stream collection and I have always been a fan of there creams especially so I was extremely excited to review for them but unfortunately the review box came horribly damaged as did quite a few other bloggers who were also contacted. Luckily they resent with better protective packaging but the new box came almost a month later and at that point I already had other swatch and review obligations to get to first so I had to hold off of swatching and reviewing them until I had some extra time. Luckily that was a couple weeks ago. So after a few months of wanting to swatch, test and review these babies, here it is! lol
Let’s start with what Sally Hansen has to say about this new formula.
"New and improved Insta-Dri® 3-in-1 formula provides 33% longer wear and chip resistance versus old formula. As the #1 quick-dry polish in North America, Insta-Dri® is formulated with a base and top coat for extended wear and full-coverage, streak-free shine. Dries in 60 seconds and requires just a single step so you can take that nail look to-go anytime, anywhere."
Available in a bright, vibrant range of 48 shades and I received 16 of them. I received mostly creams, a couple with some shimmer in them as then a couple foil like shades.
As for the formulas, I wasn't too excited. They didn't apply any better then the older ones which bummed me out considering these were advertised as one coaters. For me they were all 2 or 3 coats. Which isn't bad of course but when advertised as one coaters and not one of them were actually one coaters for me it was kind of a let down. They are also advertised as being a base, color and top coat in one and I cant really say anything about wear time since I wasn't able to wear test any but I can say all but the 2 foils did dry pretty glossy as if a top coat was on them.
So overall, for the price I think they are great and I'll always pick them as my go to drugstore/mainstream creams but I didn't really see a difference in formula or application compared to their old formula. But that was just my experience and I know their are quite a few other reviews out there if you would like to get a second opinion :)
