Digit-al Dozen | New and Improved Day 1

Nothing to Disclose
Hello Sweeties! Today I have some exciting news(at least exciting for me!) to share with you. A few weeks back I found out I was accepted in to the exclusive nail art group called the Digit-al Dozen. When I first heard about the Digit-al Dozen way back when I could only hope maybe one day I could make it in and I am so excited and grateful that I actually have. The ladies in this group are super friendly and we all have a lot in common(there's a handful of Doctor Who fans and Planner Addicts so I immediately felt accepted!) Plus, my bestie Roselynn also got in, which makes joining even that much better!

The Digit-al Dozen is a group where each month for 5 consecutive days we post nail art based on one theme. This years first theme is New and Improved. Meaning we had to do mani where we tried a technique we have never done before or a technique we have done but failed at and wanted to try again. For me, I have been dying to try the watermarble decals.

Watermarble decals is when you do a normal watermarble but instead of dipping your nails into the wet marble you let it dry completely, then carefully remove the marble from the cup and cut out what you want to use.

Guys, I am NEVER doing a regular water marble again! Not only did they come out perfect on every nail(at least perfect for my usual watermarble standards haha) but there was no mess! I didn't have to either tape my fingers up or use liquid latex, and I loved being able to have full control of placement. I also had no bubbles for the first time ever haha!

I am absolutely in love with how these turned out and now look forward to doing more watermarble nails in the future! I think my favorite part about this whole technique, you don't waste/use nearly as much polish as you would if you were doing the normal marble and dipping one nail in at a time. I only had to do it twice for 4 nails but if I had used a larger cup(I was using the little cups you get for your bathroom for mouthwash) I probably could have used one marble for 5 nails, if not more.

Polishes and Products Used:
Pipedream Polish - Celebration
Pipedream Polish - Harlequin
Pipedream Polish - Masquerader
KB Shimmer - Eyes White Open
Whats Up Nails - Watermarble Tool
Glisten and Glow - HK Girl Glossy Top Coat

Well that's it! I hope you guys enjoyed my first post for the Digit-al Dozen! Have you ever tried this technique? If so do you prefer this technique over the original watermarble technique? Let me know in the comments below! Thanks for stopping by! XO

  2. Wow!! Never would've guessed these were decals! I've never been patient enough to let the marble dry on the water but I'm gonna have to work on it!

    1. Thanks! I'm not patient either haha so while it was drying in the cup I did another mani to keep me busy. I let it dry for about 30min or so.

  3. Wow they turned out great! I'm going to have to try this technique! Did the decals become stiff and fragile or were they easy to apply?

    1. Thanks! As long as you don't take them out of the water too late and then Immediatly cut them and apply I don't think you will have a problem with them becoming too stuff or crumble. Mine sat it the water for about 30 min and then I took dropped it into a paper towel to pay it dry and carefully cut what I wanted :)

    1. Yea it's all trial in error with polishes. All my pipedream polish colors spread perfectly and most of my Sally Hansen creams do as well if that helps :)
